EMILY TESSMER

Philosophy
Emily Tessmer is an artist, musician and documentary filmmaker, who celebrates the power of the natural world. Music, her first love, continues to bring many fruitful adventures. Having 6 full length albums in her body of work, Emily continues to learn, grow with her songwriting and live performances on the trail and in the studio.
Tessmer recently won an award at the Women’s International Film Festival for her short film ‘Unseen’, a musical collaboration with the poet Anne Brigman. The film chronicles the writing of the song, her grandmother's magical mandolin, and highlights the stunning beauty of the Sierra Nevada.
This year, at Trails & Vistas, Tessmer will be performing her latest piece entitled ‘One’, which is a celebration of the elements and a tribute to her Father, who recently transitioned to the spirit world. ‘One’ has echoes of the folk movement of the 1960’s, and its beauty is undeniable. Trails and Vistas in the weekend of July 27th and 28th at The Royal Gorge, outside of Truckee, CA.
Tessmer is also currently working on a new short film with Washoe Elder and Basket Weaver, Sue Coleman, and is excited to see where the film will take her next! To support her work click here!!!
